Finding affordable shelter is a challenge for many in our state, but resources exist that may provide the solutions. This section of our site is devoted to briefly explaining public housing and the programs that have been created to assist low-income households and those with special needs find suitable housing.
NJ Housing Resource Center
In addition to the resources listed throughout the section, the NJ Housing Resource Center (NJHRC) is a free online housing information clearinghouse designed to help those with housing-related needs. Searches on the database can be narrowed to limit your results to include a specific type of housing unit. The site is updated bi-weekly to give an accurate reflection of housing availability in our state.
In addition, you can find information about the basics of buying, renting, and maintaining a home as well as learn about state subsidy programs and housing-related services that are available in our state.
