NJ 211 is far more than a call center. As a nationally accredited social service directory, NJ 211’s extensive programs connect New Jerseyans to vital assistance.

The 211 Service is available 24/7 as an information and referral service for health and human services, plus a valuable searchable online directory of social services from over 6,300 government and nonprofit programs. The service is free, confidential, multilingual, and accessible to people of all abilities.

When disaster strikes, NJ 211 becomes a round-the-clock, centralized information hub for our state government about preparedness, safety, shelter, food, water, and other essential human services related to the disaster. We post timely, relevant information on the website for all New Jersey residents, including information on enrolling in ReadyNJ before an emergency occurs. But all these deliverables–from our call center to resource connections–take funding.
