Single Point of Entry for Homelessness Prevention - Days

Service Description:

Provides a single point of entry for individuals and families experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness in Atlantic County. Applicants will be assessed for various needs and referred to appropriate resources within the community to address their needs. Traveler's assistance to return out-of-county individuals to their point of origin is available. On-site substance use and mental health assessments available to develop and coordinate services for those in need. Applicants are assessed by their specific needs and, if eligible, are given referrals/assistance for:

- General Assistance (GA)
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
- Rent payment assistance
- Mortgage payment assistance

Bi-lingual staff are available on site.




Atlantic County residents who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless:

- "Homeless" status is defined as not having an actual place of residence, living in place not usually meant for habitation, ie. bus station, street, car
- "Imminent risk" is defined as having an eviction notice or warrant of removal.

For Traveler's Assistance, applicants must have verifiable address/contact person to return to.

Application Instructions:

Phone calls and walk-ins are accepted during open hours. Applicants will speak with a case manager and be given a referral for shelter services.
