• Cell Phones
  Currently 2-1-1 is accessible for callers with T-Mobile, Cingular / AT&T and Sprint/Nextel (Embarq) and Verizon cell phone service. We are working with other cell phone service providers to program access to 2-1-1 and hope to have it completed by the end of the year. You can also reach 2-1-1 by dialing 877-NJ2114U (877-652-1148). • 2-1-1 calls from Work Locations Agencies, Government Entities and Companies
  If you are unable to access 2-1-1 from your work phone talk with your technical/communications department to request 2-1-1 dialing access. 2-1-1 is a new dialing code so phone systems at agencies, government entities and companies will have to change the permissions in the phone system to allow employees to dial 2-1-1. Until it is corrected, you can reach 2-1-1 by dialing 877-NJ2114U (877-652-1148). Report the problem here and we may be able to help you get it resolved.
  
  
• 2-1-1 calls from Home
  If you are unable to access 2-1-1 from home you may be experiencing one of the following situations:
  
  • You receive phone service from a small telecom company that has not yet programmed 2-1-1 as part of the service. If you fill in the form located here we will request 2-1-1 service for your phone. Until this situation is corrected you can reach 2-1-1 by dialing 877-NJ2114U (877-652-1148).
    
  • Your service is provided through VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) through a cable company. Only Vonage and CableVision customers have full access to 2-1-1. Some other cable customers will provide service upon request. If you fill in the form located here, we will request 2-1-1 service for your phone. • 2-1-1 calls from Payphones
  2-1-1 was previously used by payphone providers as a way for callers to receive a refund for money lost while trying to place a call at a pay phone. Some payphone service providers may not have yet programmed calls to route to 2-1-1. If you are unable to connect to 2-1-1 using a payphone please write down the number of the payphone and fill in the form located here so we can resolve the problem. There is a fee to call 2-1-1 from a payphone. Until this situation is corrected you can reach 2-1-1 by dialing 877-NJ2114U (877-652-1148).
